Description

The drunkard refers us to dependence and excess, that which distracts the spirit of man from his initial spiritual quest. Thus the drunkard has the choice to be Epicurean or to be in debauchery. We must understand here, the Epicurean according to the philosophy of Epicurus who does not advocate excess, but a right path in moderate pleasure. In our culture, we regularly hear the word epicurean in the sense of excess, but this is not the case. The wine is innocent, only the drunkard is responsible.

The drunkard is also a card of addiction, whether in alcohol, tobacco, sex, drugs, hyper-connection, medications and all the excesses that lead to a disorder of the mind. Is it lack that leads the drunkard to behave like this? Is the drunkard guilty? What burden does the drunkard carry within him? We know that lack can lead to excess and excess to stupidity. We are constantly seeking to fill our gaps. The importance of excess arises. The drunkard’s misbehavior sooner or later leads to the results of his behavior. We always pay for our bad behavior, our debauchery, our excess. The drunkard brings us back to our own excesses and to the excesses of those around us.

Another form of addiction is systematically looking for problems. Addiction to victimization permanent to fill a emotional void in us. The drunkard is a sensitive being who has not found his inner security and who will fill this lack with an addiction. He has found no place for mental rest. The drunkard seeks compensation to no longer think about his faults, his errors, his anxieties, his fears. Furthermore, the drunkard feels himself existing and valued in his problem and feels himself existing through it. A drunkard who is cured is no longer a drunkard, but then who is he? Even when the solution is given, the drunkard can cling to his problem, because it exists through him. If a solution is found, it will be necessary to relaunch the problem, the classic“yes, but…”,where the drunk answers us:“thanks for the solution, but I’m not looking of solution”. I exist through the problem.

Addictions are often synonymous with a lack of affection, tears from the past, unhealed wounds. Do we live forever with mistakes, dwelling on these negative sensations which are no longer relevant? ? A new life is possible, let’s leave the drunkard to his addictions, and get out of this winding path, this straitjacket that we leave to the abyss.
